Membership Fees for 2025
Adult Members
Age 25 and under
Cal Students
Age 18 and under
There is no charge for up to three practice sessions but you need to check the box “Guest…” at the waiver. After three introductory sessions, new paddlers are asked to join BRCC and fill out the waiver again (checking the appropriate button for your team) and pay the membership fee.
Children under 12 must be accompanied in the boat by a parent. Youth under 18 require parental signature on the waiver form before they can go out in any of the BRCC boats.
Swimming ability is not required. Dragon boats seldom swamp or capsize, and non-swimmers must wear lifejackets at all times. Good swimmers who certify their swimming ability may take off their lifejackets under certain conditions, but must always keep them close at hand.
Guests
Guest Paddler
- free up to three (3) times per calendar year
- includes small vessels
- Guests are invited to paddle dragon boats with BRCC for free up to three (3) times per calendar year. After that we ask that guests join BRCC. Guests may paddle BRCC “small fleet” watercraft only under the close supervision of a BRCC member certified for that type of boat. Adult guests are limited to three times per calendar year.
One Time Race Membership
- three (3) months prior to the race
- does NOT include access to small vessels
- If you are paddling with us in preparation for a race – you will sign up for the “one time” race membership as an individual. This allows you to come and paddle with a BRCC team as many times within a 3 month period leading up to the race date you have chosen to participate in.
Corporate Team Practices
- up to three (3) times prior to the race
- does NOT include access to small vessels
- If you are paddling with a BRCC sponsored corporate team – you can paddle with that team for free up to three (3) times per calendar year before the race you are entered in. After 3 practices we request that you become a BRCC member. This also applies for BRCC Coached or Managed guest teams preparing for a paddling event.
Other Teams looking into using BRCC equipment
- up to three (3) times per year
- does NOT include access to small vessels
- If teams want to use BRCC’s boats, they need to add BRCC as additional insureds to their own club liability policy and provide BRCC with a certificate of insurance.
- All paddlers will be required to join BRCC as a guest and complete all required paperwork.
- Another option is a once a year Outreach Event which can be arranged through the BRCC Outreach Coordinators where a team can paddle together and this would include some BRCC participation or oversight.
The guest paddler needs to complete ALL required paperwork and work with the team to attend practice or use small vessels up to three (3) times for free per calendar year.
