On Saturday, January 13th, we will be holding the Annual BRCC Membership Meeting before we paddle. We will meet at the Berkeley Yacht Club from 8:30-9:30 AM for our annual meeting.
At this annual meeting we will reflect back on all that happened in 2023 and what we have accomplished.

As part of the planning for the annual meeting, we would like to gather input & ideas from all of YOU. So please fill in our survey to help us move forward in a common direction:

New BRCC Bylaws

Over the past year a Bylaws Subcommittee was formed and has worked hard to update the BRCC Bylaws based on some questions and requests from our membership. Please review the proposed new Bylaws before the upcoming meeting:

We have three (3) vacant positions for this coming year.

Next year brings new opportunities for supporting BRCC, the umbrella management organization for DragonMax, Rough Riders, Cal Dragons, and small vessel users.

Vice President Officer Position (Elected by membership)
In the absence of the President, or in the event of their inability or refusal to act, the Vice President shall perform all the duties of the President, and when so acting shall have all the powers of, and be subject to all the restrictions on, the President. In the case of a vacancy in the President position, the Vice President shall act as President until a successor is appointed by the board. The VP shall assist the President on projects as needed.

The Vice President shall serve as the community liaison with other entities, for example the Berkeley Marina, other City of Berkeley departments, Berkeley Yacht Club, etc.

The Vice-President shall ensure all board members are properly oriented on board policies, procedures and the bylaws. This in no way removes individual board members from their legal duties and obligations to know, understand, and abide by board policies, procedures and the bylaws.

The Outreach Director shall take a leadership role in developing and cultivating corporate support through team building activities and team development.

The Outreach Director shall maintain relations with the Berkeley Marina staff, Waterfront Commission, City recreation departments, for example as well as other agencies or non-profit entities that may be in a position to participate in outreach events, youth programs and youth or high school teams.

And we are also looking for someone interested in helping BRCC by taking on the:

Compliance and Safety Director Director Position (appointed by full Board of Directors), new for 2024

The person would work closely with Membership Director & Large and Small Fleet Directors and other board positions as well as team coaches as some tasks will overlap.
